Sunflower State group travelCharter Bus Rental in Kansas, with a Driver
Kansas looks simple on a map: two interstates, a turnpike and a lot of sky. Moving 40 people across it is where the details hide. A cashless turnpike, a national preserve where buses can't roll onto the prairie, four western counties on Mountain Time and I-70 winter closures all shape the plan. BUSXOXO books motor coaches, minibuses, Sprinter vans and school buses with professional drivers from Kansas City, Kansas, to Wichita, Topeka, Lawrence, Manhattan, Hutchinson and Dodge City, and we plan around every one of those details.
- 8 to 56 seats per vehicle
- Multi-bus fleets for 500+
- 24/7 live support
- Itemized quotes
Wichita → Hutchinson STEM day
45 students, one 56-seat coach. Cosmosphere in the morning, Strataca salt mine after lunch, home before the bell schedule ends.
Overland Park → Lawrence game day
30 fans on a minibus. Drop near the stadium, a driver who knows where buses can and can't wait, and a pickup point set before kickoff.
Topeka → Abilene history loop
Senior group of 24 in a minicoach. Eisenhower Presidential Library, lunch downtown, and a scenic leg home through the Flint Hills.
The short answer
What does a Kansas charter bus cost, and which one do you need?
For most Kansas groups, a 56-passenger motor coach runs about $145–$325 per hour with a 5-hour minimum, or roughly $1,400–$3,000 for a full day. A minibus for 15–35 riders sits around $120–$250 per hour, and a Sprinter van for up to 14 starts near $105 per hour. Every quote includes the driver and fuel. Turnpike tolls, park permits, parking and a driver's hotel on overnight trips are listed as separate lines so nothing surprises you later. The full breakdown is on our charter bus rental cost guide.
Picking the vehicle comes down to headcount plus luggage. Up to 14 riders with carry-ons fit a Sprinter. Fifteen to about 35 belong in a minibus or minicoach. Past 35, or on any trip longer than two hours, a full-size coach with a restroom and under-floor bays earns its price. Not sure? Use the matcher a little further down this page, or read what size charter bus do I need.
Two Kansas-specific things change the plan more than people expect: the distances in the west, and the weather on I-70. We build both into the schedule up front.
How Kansas actually drives
Five corridors carry almost every Kansas charter trip
Kansas group travel runs along a handful of long, fast lines. Knowing which one your trip uses tells you most of what matters: whether you'll pay turnpike tolls, how far apart the rest stops are, and whether winter can shut the road. The shaded strip on the left is the Mountain Time pocket along the Colorado line.
The east–west spine
Kansas City, Lawrence, Topeka, Junction City, Abilene, Salina, Hays, Colby and Goodland in one straight line. East of Topeka it is part of the turnpike; west of Salina the towns and fuel stops thin out, and winter closures happen here first.
Kansas City to Wichita to Oklahoma
The fastest way between the two biggest metros. It is cashless, billed per mile by axle count, and the rate without a K-TAG or compatible transponder is double. Ask your operator how they pay.
Wichita to Salina
Links south-central Kansas with I-70 through Newton and McPherson. Handy for Lindsborg day trips.
Hutchinson, Dodge City, Garden City
Two-lane stretches, grain trucks at harvest and long gaps between towns. Plan rest stops by name, not by "we'll find one," and add time in June and July.
Johnson County to southeast Kansas
Overland Park south to Fort Scott and Pittsburg. The 69 Express lanes in Overland Park are also tolled and cashless, so confirm they're on or off the route.
The chalk country connector
From I-70 at Oakley south toward Little Jerusalem Badlands, Monument Rocks and Scott City. Some side roads to the formations are unpaved, so the operator should check access for a full-size coach.
Match the vehicle to the trip
Kansas group size matcher
Slide to your headcount and pick the kind of day you're planning. The matcher highlights the vehicle we'd quote first for a Kansas trip of that shape. Long I-70 legs and overnight luggage push you up a size sooner than city runs do.

Sprinter Van
ICT and MCI airport runs, executive visits to Overland Park offices and small wedding parties.
Sprinter van rental →
15-Passenger Van
Budget pick for short hops: a team to a Topeka tournament or a crew to a job site.
15-passenger van →
Minibus
Game-day crews to Lawrence or Manhattan, church groups and wedding guest shuttles between hotels.
Minibus rental →
Shuttle Bus
Loops between Overland Park hotels and a convention center, or parking lots and a fairground gate.
Shuttle bus rental →
Full-Size Motor Coach
The workhorse for I-70 and turnpike trips: restroom, reclining seats and bays for suitcases.
55-passenger coach →
Executive Coach
Board retreats, client tours of Wichita's aviation corridor and VIP transfers that need work space.
Executive coach →
School Bus
Short local field trips and camps where price matters more than reclining seats or a restroom.
School bus rental →
Party Bus
Proms, bachelorette nights in Wichita's Old Town and birthday runs around the Legends in KCK.
Party bus rental →Seat 90%, not 100%. A 56-seat coach comfortably moves about 50 people with backpacks. Fill every seat on a four-hour I-70 leg and people notice.
Over 56? Split smartly. Two minibuses can beat one coach plus a van when pickups are in two towns. Our guide on one bus or two minibuses walks through it.
Luggage changes the answer. Golf bags, band cases and week-long suitcases need under-floor bays. See charter bus luggage capacity.
Kansas charter bus pricing
What Kansas groups pay, line by line
Kansas isn't one of the big-city markets with its own rate card, so quotes here follow our national ranges. What moves a Kansas price is mostly distance from the nearest garage. A coach based in Wichita costs less for a Wichita field trip than the same coach sent out to Garden City.

Four priced Kansas trips
45 students on one coach, Cosmosphere and Strataca, about 9 hours door to door.
30 fans, minibus, 5-hour minimum covers the drive, the game and the ride back.

50 riders, coach, Wichita to Dodge City and the chalk badlands. Add the driver's hotel room.
- Go midweekKansas operators are busiest on fall Saturdays and spring Fridays. A Tuesday trip often lands near the low end.
- Start where the bus livesPicking up in Wichita, Topeka or the KC metro avoids paying for a long empty drive to a small town.
- Book a full day onceTwo 5-hour minimums in a weekend can cost more than one 10-hour day with a smart itinerary. Our pricing explainer shows the math.
Northeast Kansas
Kansas City, Kansas and Johnson County charter buses
Roughly half of our Kansas requests start on the Kansas side of the Kansas City metro. The state line is minutes away in every direction, and that matters, because the airport most groups use is in Missouri.
Z1Village West, KCK
Kansas Speedway, Children's Mercy Park, Hollywood Casino and the Legends outlets sit together off I-70 and I-435. Event days bring their own traffic patterns and bus lots.
Race weekends and big soccer matches: we set a pickup spot by name and time before the group scatters. See our sports bus rental page.
Z2Overland Park
The convention center, a dense hotel cluster and corporate campuses along College Boulevard make this the conference shuttle capital of Kansas.
Multi-hotel loops need a timed schedule, not "every 20 minutes." Our conference shuttle guide has the math.
Z3Olathe & Lenexa
Big school districts, megachurches, youth sports complexes and distribution campuses. Expect tournament weekends and employee shuttle requests.
Youth tournaments change start times; book a driver who stays with the group. Read tournament bus planning.
Z4Downtown KCK & Wyandotte
Church groups, family reunions and civic events. Short hops into Missouri for Chiefs, Royals or the Plaza are the most common add-on.
Faith groups planning a retreat can start with our church bus rental options.
Z5Leavenworth
Fort Leavenworth ceremonies, graduations and unit travel, plus historic downtown tours. Base access rules apply to the vehicle and the driver.
Unit and agency travel: see government and military transport.
Z6Wedding venues
Barn venues west toward Lawrence and Tonganoxie, hotel ballrooms in Overland Park. Many guests stay in one hotel and the venue sits on a county road.
Count buses with how many wedding shuttles you need.
The airport is in Missouri. Kansas City International (MCI) sits north of the river in Missouri, and so do Arrowhead and Kauffman stadiums. A trip that crosses the state line is interstate travel, so the operator needs federal operating authority, not only a Kansas permit. Every operator we book for metro work holds it, and you can look any carrier up on the FMCSA SAFER system yourself. Planning more time on the Missouri side? See our Missouri charter bus page and airport charter bus service.
College towns and the capital
Lawrence, Manhattan and Topeka: three towns, three different bus days
These three sit within about 80 miles of each other on I-70, yet a game day in Lawrence, a campus visit in Manhattan and a civics trip to Topeka call for different vehicles, timing and drop-off plans. Pick a town.
Lawrence: Jayhawk game days and Mass Street
The stadium has been under renovation, and KU changed its game-day parking around the construction for the 2026 season. Large vehicles have fewer choices than cars: KU allows RVs only in Lot 90, and there is no RV parking near the stadium. For a charter, the realistic plan is a drop-off and pickup point agreed before the trip, with the bus parked away from the stadium between.
KU also runs a free game-day shuttle that starts three hours before kickoff and ends an hour after the game, and Lawrence Transit runs buses from downtown. Outside football, basketball weekends at Allen Fieldhouse and dinners on Massachusetts Street suit a minibus better than a 45-foot coach.
Lawrence checklist
- Check KU's game-day parking page the week of the game: lots and rules change.
- Agree on one pickup landmark and a time; phones die at night games.
- A minibus or Sprinter is easier downtown than a full coach.
- Fan clubs: our sports bus rental page covers multi-game packages.
Manhattan: K-State, Aggieville and Fort Riley
Manhattan is about two hours from the Kansas City suburbs and a little over two from Wichita, which makes it a classic "day trip with a game in the middle." Wildcat football Saturdays fill hotels for miles around, so out-of-town groups often stay in Junction City, Topeka or Salina and ride in. That works well with a coach and a driver who stays with the group, and less well with a drop-and-go booking.
Campus visits are the other big Manhattan trip. High school counselors often pair K-State with KU on one two-day run, or add the Flint Hills Discovery Center downtown. Fort Riley, a few minutes west, brings unit travel, family day events and graduation weekends, where the operator must clear the installation's vehicle access rules in advance.
Manhattan checklist
- Confirm the university's bus drop zone for your game; it is set per event.
- Staying out of town? Budget the extra miles both ways.
- Two-campus tours: use our itinerary template to time each stop.
- Fort Riley trips: send rider and driver details early.
Topeka: the capitol and Brown v. Board
Topeka is Kansas's civics classroom. The Kansas State Capitol and the Kansas Museum of History draw school groups all year, and Brown v. Board of Education National Historical Park, in the former Monroe Elementary School, is one of the most meaningful field trips in the state. The park asks for reservations at least two weeks ahead, runs programs of at least an hour, and may split groups larger than 35.
The park can also reimburse transportation for some schools, including Title 1 schools and Topeka Public Schools, and pays by credit card, so the bus provider must accept card payment. If your school qualifies, mention it when you request a quote and we will invoice in a way that fits the grant.
Topeka checklist
- Book the park program before the bus, then match the bus to its time slot.
- Over 35 students? Plan a rotation between the park and a second stop.
- Lunch: the park has picnic tables, and Cushinberry Park is across the lot.
- School leaders: see our field trip bus checklist.
South-central Kansas
Wichita charter buses, and the Hutchinson day that goes up and down
Wichita is Kansas's largest city and calls itself the Air Capital of the World, thanks to a century of aircraft building. It is also the easiest place in the state to source a coach on short notice. Fifty miles northwest, Hutchinson offers one of the most unusual school-trip pairings in the country: a space museum in the morning and a salt mine 650 feet underground in the afternoon.
Wichita stop board
Common pickups and drop-offs we plan around
| Old Town | Brick warehouse district for dinners, proms and bachelorette nights. Tight streets favor a minibus or party bus. |
| Riverfront | The Keeper of the Plains and the Arkansas River paths, plus Exploration Place for STEM groups. |
| Zoo & Botanica | Sedgwick County Zoo and Botanica on the west side, steady with summer camps and K-5 classes. |
| Old Cowtown | Living-history village along the river; pairs well with the zoo for a full school day. |
| Arena & WSU | Concerts downtown and Shocker games across town. Event nights need a fixed pickup time. |
| Mulvane | Kansas Star Casino, a regular for senior groups. See casino bus rental. |
Hutchinson: above and below
Book both stops before the bus, then fit the bus to their time slots
- Group rates start at 15 people.
- Reserve two weeks ahead for the group rate.
- Bus tour guides and bus drivers get in free.
- Children must be at least 4 to go below.
- School trips run August to May, 12-student minimum.
- Groups over 28 split into departures 10 minutes apart.
Central Kansas
The Flint Hills, Abilene and the middle of the map
Between the two metros lies the largest remaining stretch of tallgrass prairie in North America, a string of Santa Fe Trail towns and a presidential library. It is the most rewarding Kansas day trip, with rules that catch buses off guard.
Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve
The preserve sits two miles north of Strong City on K-177, the Flint Hills National Scenic Byway. Here is the detail that surprises charter groups: no private vehicles are allowed on the prairie itself, and that includes your bus. The coach parks at the visitor center, and the group explores on foot or with rangers. There is no entrance fee, and the prairie is open around the clock except during prescribed burns, which are most common in spring.
Groups of 15 or more can book a free ranger-led tour year-round with at least two weeks' notice. The combination tour pairs an hour in the historic 1881 ranch house and limestone barn with an hour out on the prairie. Ranger prairie tours can use a lift-equipped vehicle with advance notice, which helps groups with wheelchair users. Read more in charter bus rental for national park tours.
Preserve rules for bus groups
- Call the preserve two or more weeks out for a group program.
- Plan for walking; bring water, hats and closed shoes.
- No camping or overnight parking, so the coach leaves with you.
- Ask about prescribed fire dates before locking a spring trip.
- Pets are not allowed in buildings or on ranger prairie tours.
Council Grove
A Santa Fe Trail town with trail-era landmarks and a classic main street. A good lunch stop between the preserve and I-70.
Cottonwood Falls
Home of a much-photographed limestone courthouse and a short scenic overlook south of town with prairie waysides.
"Little Sweden"
Swedish heritage, painted Dala horses and galleries. Popular with senior tours and church groups as a half-day add-on from Salina or Wichita.
The crossroads
Where I-135 meets I-70. A natural overnight for High Plains tours and the easiest place to swap drivers on long cross-state charters.
I-70 EXIT
Eisenhower Presidential Library, Museum and Boyhood Home. The museum and boyhood home open Tuesday through Sunday, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with last museum entry an hour before closing. Groups of 20 or more with a reservation get a reduced adult rate paid in one payment, and all group visits must be booked ahead. For the 2026–27 school year, the Eisenhower Foundation tells bus drivers to use 400 S. Buckeye Ave, drop riders at the southeast corner of the Visitor Center lot and park on the north side, because the south lot is under construction. Pair it with a ride on the Abilene & Smoky Valley Railroad or the Greyhound Hall of Fame a block away.
Western Kansas field notes
High Plains trips: chalk spires, cattle towns and long miles
West of Hays, Kansas opens up. Towns sit 30 to 60 miles apart, fuel and restrooms need planning, and some of the best sights are down county roads.
Little Jerusalem Badlands
Logan County · US-83 south of Oakley
A mile of chalk spires and cliffs up to about 100 feet tall, owned by The Nature Conservancy and run as a state park since 2019. Two marked trails lead to overlooks, and only ranger-guided tours may go off trail, by advance reservation.
It is day-use only, sunrise to sunset, and every vehicle needs a Kansas state park vehicle permit. There is no drinking water on site and restrooms can close.
Monument Rocks
Gove County · east of Little Jerusalem
The chalk "pyramids" in so many Kansas photos stand on private ranch land. The owners allow daytime visits, so behave like guests: stay off the formations and leave nothing behind.
The last miles are on rural roads, some of them gravel. In wet weather those roads can turn soft.
Dodge City & Boot Hill
Ford County · US-50 / US-400
Boot Hill Museum tells the cattle-town story on a rebuilt 1870s Front Street. Group rates start at 30 people. The self-guided pass takes about two hours, and the summer pass adds a chuckwagon-style dinner, a variety show and gunfights from Memorial Day to Labor Day.
Hays
Ellis County · I-70
Fort Hays State University and the Sternberg Museum of Natural History, with its giant fossil fish and dinosaur halls. Hays is the natural lunch and fuel stop on any I-70 run to Colorado.
Garden City
Finney County · US-50 / US-83
Lee Richardson Zoo, the Finney County Historical Museum and a diverse food scene shaped by families from around the world who work in the region. A base for southwest Kansas tours and school trips.
Scott City & Lake Scott
Scott County · US-83
Historic Lake Scott State Park, a canyon oasis with the ruins of El Cuartelejo pueblo, sits a short drive south of Little Jerusalem and is the usual camping base for the chalk country.
The Mountain Time pocket
Sherman County (Goodland), Wallace County (Sharon Springs), Greeley County and Hamilton County (Syracuse) run on Mountain Time, one hour behind the rest of Kansas. If your group crosses that line, write every pickup time with its zone. "Meet the bus at 8:00" means two different things in Colby and Goodland, and a lost hour can push a long day against the driver's legal limit.
Winter on I-70
Blizzards and high winds can close I-70 west of Salina, sometimes for a night, and KDOT asks drivers not to dodge closures on back roads. From November to March we schedule western legs with a weather buffer and check KanDrive (511 in Kansas) before departure. Groups heading on to Colorado should also read our Colorado charter bus page.
Kansas departures board
Popular Kansas routes, drive times and the driver plan
Federal hours-of-service rules let a passenger-carrier driver drive up to 10 hours, and only within 15 hours on duty, after 8 hours off. In Kansas the miles add up quickly, so the plan column shows whether one driver can do the trip as a same-day return or whether you need an overnight or a second driver. The bar shows each one-way leg as a share of a 10-hour driving day. Times are typical, before weather, construction and stops.
| Route | Approx. miles | Drive time | Share of 10 h | Driver plan |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Overland Park → Lawrence | 40 | 0:45 | Easy same-day return | |
| Kansas City, KS → Topeka | 65 | 1:05 | Easy same-day return | |
| Wichita → Hutchinson | 50 | 0:55 | Easy same-day return | |
| Topeka → Abilene | 90 | 1:25 | Same-day return | |
| Wichita → Tallgrass Prairie | 90 | 1:40 | Same-day return | |
| Kansas City, KS → Manhattan | 120 | 1:55 | Same-day return, even with a night game | |
| Wichita → Topeka | 140 | 2:15 | Same-day return | |
| Kansas City, KS → Wichita | 200 | 3:00 | Same day if the event is under ~7 h | |
| Wichita → Dodge City | 155 | 2:40 | Same day; watch the on-duty clock | |
| Wichita → Oklahoma City | 160 | 2:30 | Same day for a game or a show | |
| Wichita → Little Jerusalem | 290 | 4:40 | Overnight in Scott City, Oakley or Hays | |
| Kansas City, KS → Goodland | 420 | 6:00 | One way only, or overnight | |
| Kansas City, KS → Denver | 600 | 8:45 | Relief driver or a Hays / Colby overnight |
Why Kansas groups book buses
Every kind of Kansas trip, and what each one needs
One coach can carry a third-grade class on Tuesday and a wedding party on Saturday. The planning is different each time.
School and field trips
Kansas teachers stretch one bus day across two or three stops: the Cosmosphere and Strataca in Hutchinson, the Capitol and Brown v. Board in Topeka, the zoo and Exploration Place in Wichita. A coach with a restroom makes a 90-minute ride manageable for young riders, and seat belts are standard on new motor coaches. Book the venues first, then the bus. For older students on band and choir trips, under-floor bays matter more than anything else; see charter buses for band instruments.
School bus vs charter bus →Game days

Sports buses →Corporate and aviation
Plant tours in Wichita's aviation corridor and conferences in Overland Park.
Corporate travel →Church and retreats
Camp weekends, mission trips and choir tours with overnight bags.
Retreat checklist →Proms, birthdays and nights out
Party buses in Wichita's Old Town and the KCK Legends area. Under Kansas law (K.S.A. 8-1599), an adult passenger on a bus may hold an open drink only away from the driver's compartment. Operator rules still apply, and nobody under 21 drinks, ever. Our charter bus vs party bus guide explains the trade-offs.

Military transport →Farm tours, ag shows and county fairs
Kansas grows more wheat than almost any state, and ag groups and 4-H clubs tour farms, elevators and research plots. Rural stops mean narrow gates and gravel lots, so the operator checks each turn-in for a 45-foot coach ahead of time.

Storm days: who decides?
Spring in Kansas means tornado watches and warnings. A watch means conditions are favorable; a warning means take shelter now. A bus is not a storm shelter, so drivers follow National Weather Service warnings and will stop at a sturdy building rather than drive into a warned area.
On a stormy day, the driver and the operator's dispatch have the final word on safety. Your group leader decides whether to wait, shorten the day or reschedule. Before spring trips, look at the forecast from the National Weather Service in Wichita and know our rescheduling policy.
Kansas rules of the road for groups
Eight Kansas rules worth knowing before you book
You shouldn't have to manage these yourself, but knowing them helps you spot a weak quote. We check each one on every Kansas trip.
Kansas authority for in-state trips
A for-hire passenger carrier running trips that start and end inside Kansas needs a certificate from the Kansas Corporation Commission. Trips that cross into Missouri or another state need federal authority too.
Look the carrier up yourself
Every interstate passenger carrier has a USDOT number. Search it on FMCSA SAFER and the travel checklist at FMCSA Travel Planner before you sign.
The turnpike has no toll booths
The Kansas Turnpike went fully cashless on July 1, 2024. Tolls are billed per mile by axle count, and the license-plate rate is double the K-TAG rate. Details: Kansas Turnpike Authority.
Open containers
Kansas law lets a bus passenger hold an open drink only when away from the driver's compartment. The driver never has access, and operator policy can be stricter.
Two time zones
Sherman, Wallace, Greeley and Hamilton counties are on Mountain Time. Write the zone next to every pickup time on western trips.
Driver hours are federal law
10 hours of driving, inside a 15-hour on-duty window, after 8 hours off. Long Kansas days hit these limits faster than people expect.
Parks have their own rules
No vehicles on the Tallgrass prairie itself, and a vehicle permit at Kansas state parks such as Little Jerusalem Badlands.
Respect closures
When KDOT closes I-70 for weather, it asks drivers not to detour onto back roads. A professional driver waits; check KanDrive or dial 511.

Kansas charter bus FAQ
Questions Kansas groups ask us most
How much does it cost to rent a charter bus in Kansas?
A 56-passenger motor coach usually costs $145–$325 per hour with a 5-hour minimum, or about $1,400–$3,000 for a full day. A minibus runs about $120–$250 per hour and a Sprinter van starts near $105 per hour. Tolls, park permits and a driver's hotel on overnight trips are listed separately.
How far in advance should I book a charter bus in Kansas?
Two to four weeks is often enough for a winter weekday. Book two to three months ahead for spring field trips, two to four months for fall football Saturdays and three to six months for wedding weekends or Kansas State Fair week.
Can a charter bus drive onto the Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve?
No. Private vehicles, including charter buses, are not allowed on the prairie itself. The bus parks at the visitor center, and groups of 15 or more can book a free ranger-led tour with at least two weeks' notice.
Do Kansas charter buses pay tolls on the Kansas Turnpike?
Yes, when the route uses it. The Kansas Turnpike has been fully cashless since July 1, 2024 and bills per mile by axle count. The license-plate rate is double the K-TAG rate, so ask your operator how it pays; we list tolls as their own line.
Can you drink alcohol on a charter bus in Kansas?
Kansas law (K.S.A. 8-1599) allows an adult passenger on a bus to hold an open drink only when away from the driver's compartment. The driver may never have access, nobody under 21 may drink, and many operators set stricter rules, so confirm the policy when you book.
What license does a charter bus company need in Kansas?
Carriers running for-hire passenger trips that stay inside Kansas need a certificate from the Kansas Corporation Commission. Trips that cross state lines, including runs to Kansas City International in Missouri, also require federal operating authority, which you can check on FMCSA SAFER.
Can a Kansas charter bus pick us up at Kansas City International Airport?
Yes. MCI is in Missouri, so the trip counts as interstate and the operator needs federal authority, which every operator we book for metro airport runs holds. We also handle pickups at Wichita's Eisenhower National Airport (ICT), the largest airport in Kansas.
Which bus is best for a Kansas school field trip?
For short local trips, a school bus is the budget choice. For anything past about 90 minutes each way, such as Wichita to Hutchinson or Kansas City to Topeka, a motor coach with a restroom, reclining seats and seat belts is more comfortable and often similar in cost per student.
Can one driver do a Kansas City to Denver trip in one day?
It's about 600 miles and roughly 8 hours 45 minutes of driving, close to the 10-hour federal limit before any delays. We plan a relief driver or an overnight in Hays or Colby so the trip stays legal and comfortable.
What happens if I-70 is closed by snow?
The driver waits for the road to reopen rather than detouring onto back roads, as KDOT asks. From November to March we add a weather buffer to western Kansas legs, watch KanDrive, and help your group leader decide whether to wait, shorten the day or reschedule.
Are there time zone issues on western Kansas trips?
Yes. Sherman, Wallace, Greeley and Hamilton counties use Mountain Time, one hour behind the rest of Kansas. We write every pickup time with its time zone on western trips so nobody waits an hour or misses the bus.
Do you provide buses for KU and K-State football games?
Yes. Minibuses and coaches for fan groups, alumni clubs and bands are among our busiest Kansas bookings. Campus parking for large vehicles is limited, so we set a drop-off and pickup point before game day and park the bus away from the stadium.
